Unity3D is a gaming engine which is use to develop different types of games for different kind of platform. Unity is a cross platform. That means if we develop a game using Unity3D it can be played on any platform like

• Mac 
• Black Barry 

there are also many other platforms on which we can play our games.

Why we call it Unity3D C# ?  

Initially only 3D games are developed in Unity and there is no support for 2D game development. Thats why industry named it Unity3D . Later on Unity introduce 2D game development. Now a day we can develop 2D & 3D both kinds of games in Unity. 

The language we use for developing for game is C# . SO its full name is Unity3D C#(some time Unity3D with C#).
